I love your house and could happily live there. One of my favourite pieces of furniture came from a charity shop. It had been beautifully hand made with offcuts of wood, some with a few marks and tiny holes. I didn't do anything to it except wax it.

Thank you for your kind words Gill. It's amazing what you can find in charity shops isn't it. When I look at old furniture the quality of craftsmanship always leaves awed - all those handmade joints are beautiful. And sometimes a good waxing is all you need to restore furniture, absolutely.

I get that. I become overwhelmed when there's too much going on in my environment, and coloured walls qualify as too much for me. I find white interiors soothing and they help me function and, like you, think.

Thank you! We still have a few things to do but most big jobs are done. It is quite a transformation, yes, and for me looking at before and after photos is a good way to remember all we’ve done instead of focusing on what still needs to be renovated.
